Millions of years ago, DFW was at the bottom of an ocean. That’s right! A giant, prehistoric ocean.
While those days are long gone, our ground remains the same: brittle, rocky, and uneven. When that effect combines with the ground beneath a sidewalk, the integrity of the sidewalk will suffer, because the concrete can be weakened by lack of support.
If you’ve noticed fault lines forming in your sidewalk, or rainwater pooling around uneven areas, or you suspect that the ground may have sinkholed, don’t hesitate to take action.
The Risk
Just as sturdy homes are built on solid foundations, so too must sidewalks be monitored for weaknesses. If problems are caught early enough, you’ll save large sums of money, because our sidewalk lift/repair methods at NorTex make all the difference. Your budget, neighbors, and customers will thank you!
Instead of worrying about injury, ponded water, or popped vehicle tires, enjoy the peace of mind that comes with a newly refinished sidewalk.
The Signs of Trouble
The following issues are harbingers for later damage, and the earlier they’re caught, the better:
**Cracked sidewalk slabs, separated at sagging points, points of tension, or creases between slabs.
**Uneven sidewalks, which are most obvious when rainfall or sprinkler runoff pools on the concrete. Also look for the algae that can grow after repeated water pooling.
**Water flow that originates under the sidewalk, or flows beneath it.
**Soil erosion caused by wild animals, rains, or yard work.
Our Solutions
Nortex uses state-of-the-art polyurethane foam injections to repair sidewalks, pathways, and ramps, as well as any other concrete based foundation.
The foam fills eroded spaces below the uneven concrete, leveling the walkway or sidewalk, and restoring the natural level plane. Our foam process is minimally invasive, and requires a hole to be drilled in the surface, which is later filled and made invisible. When the pavement is level, the foam hardens into a solid, and also mend any faults, if applicable.
Foam Injection Benefits
-In comparison to a newly laid concrete slab, our foam injection is fast acting, and you only have to wait for the injection site to dry before returning to use. You won’t have to worry about neighborhood kids drawing on your wet concrete overnight either!
-Leveling your sidewalk removes liability and worry about neighbors or children tripping in your front yard. Or consider that pooling rainwater can attract mosquitoes and West Nile virus, both of which can be avoided by flattening out the sidewalk areas.
-We leave your yard cleaner than when we arrived. You’ll have a lasting repair that will survive years of DFW rainfall, animal mischief, and yard work.
-Due to the lack of cement paving required, we don’t have to bring in a cement mixer, or occupy your neighborhood or workplace with loud machinery. Long gone are the days when the HOA might bother you. We take up one lane of traffic or less, and can finish a job in as little as 45 minutes.
